The latest version of Timetable Genius is V2.4.3. If you have experienced program errors you should upgrade to this version. You can find out your version number under [Help - About Timetable Genius] in the opening window.
In the upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 we modified the timetable resource allocation module to better handle data files that leave little or no spare sessions.
In addition classrooms can now be allocated overflow classrooms. Classrooms may also be designated as 'Last resort' classrooms. If a classroom has an overflow classroom(s) and that is unavailable then a 'last resort' classroom will be tested to see if one is available. If a classroom has an no overflow classroom(s) then a 'last resort' classroom will be tested to see if one is available.
From 2.3 to 2.4 we corrected a couple of minor calculations. Also, clicking on the Open data file and Timetable buttons on the front window has been modified to be more user friendly. The procedure is now more like a 'wizard' in operation.
1. If your current version is earlier than 2.1. you must obtain version 2.4 on a CD-ROM as the download file is not backwards compatible. This upgrade is free to registered users. Please send an Information Request containing your serial number, postal address (in the 'further information' text box) etc. and we will post the new CD as soon as possible. Your current version must be removed first. This will not remove any data files you may have created.
2. If your current version is 2.1 or later.

Some of our products require the visual basic runtime files to be installed on the users computer. These are normally installed as required in the installation procedure for each product. However they can be overwritten by other applications causing programs to cease functioning. Also, in one or two cases, a program assumes that the visual basic runtime files are already installed on the computer. Downloading and installing the visual basic runtime files should solve these issues.
